We travelled east from Eureka just a few miles to the East Tintic Mining
District.
On the way we got a good view of Mt. Nebo in the Wasatch Mountains.
The MHA bus arrived at the Trixie Project Office.
Our hosts from Osisko had
set up a display of many different types of mining equipment being used
at the Trixie Project.
The Load-Haul-Dump unit (Left) and Haul Truck (Right) were used in the
underground development work.
(Left, Right, and Below) The MHAers visited a display of mineral
specimens from the underground development work. Drill cores illustrated
some of the challenges of exploration drilling in fractured ground.
The headframe of the Trixie Mine is equipped with a ventilation fan.
Mobile
mining equipment can access the underground ore zone through a decline
at the recently constructed Brandy Lee Portal.
The Mill building at the Burgin Mine is being used for metallurgical
testing and development of the new flowsheet to treat the Trixie Project
ore.
In the background are tanks containing the various solutions from the ore
leaching process.
