Heartland Railroad Museum

The Webb Family Railroad Heritage and Education Center in Carona, Kansas, contains two large rooms of railroad artifacts, large and small.

The Missouri Pacific (MoPac) station at Carona, c1886, has been restored.

Behind the Carona Station is the restored MoPac station from the Boston location, c1882. The track is still in use.

This diesel locomotive is part of an extensive collection of railroad rolling stock that can be viewed on the museum grounds.

The Kansas City Southern steam locomotive number 1023 was one of 12 engines in its class.  It was built during 1906-07. It is the only surviving engine of its class. All other engines were scrapped in the 1950s.
